RSS event: Pranab says will respond in Nagpur
New Delhi: With the clamour rising for the former President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee to skip the RSS event at Nagpur he has said that he will “respond in Nagpur”. “Whatever I have to say, I will say in Nagpur. I have received several letters and phone calls but I haven’t responded to anyone yet,” Mr Mukherjee said according to media reports in Kolkata. Mr Mukherjee will address Sangh workers on nationalism on June 7 and will also be the chief guest at the valedictory session of the “Tritiya Varsh Varg” or the Third Year Course.
However, officially the Congress has refused to comment on the issue but several of its leaders have expressed their unhappiness over the former President’s decision. Leader of Opposition in Kerala assembly and senior Congress leader Mr Ramesh Chennithala has sent a letter to former President Pranab Mukherjee requesting him to refrain from attending a RSS function at Nagpur on June 7.
