Saffron-clad men install Godse statue in UP district

As tension mounted in the village, the local people immediately informed the police that rushed to the spot and arrested four persons.

Lucknow: Members of an unknown outfit, Rashtriya Sanatan Dal, on Tuesday, installed a statue of Nathuram Godse and, that too, on Gandhi Jayanti in Sagwara village in Chitrakoot district.

As tension mounted in the village, the local people immediately informed the police that rushed to the spot and arrested four persons. The statue was also removed and later destroyed. Additional forces have been deployed in the village to prevent fallout of the incident.

Two of the four arrested persons have been identified as Brijesh Pandey, who claims to be the founder member of the outfit, and Raghvendra Singh. All of them are being questioned. Sources said that the platform for the statue was being built since the past one week but no one knew in the village what it was for.
