Union minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday said nationalism is considered a bad word only in India even as he accused the Opposition parties of “orchestrating” the the Ramjas College row ahead of the UP Assembly polls.

Earlier, DU student Gurmehar Kaur on Tuesday pulled out of the protest march held against the ABVP while requesting to be “left alone”, and left for Jalandhar to be with her family. Her decision comes amidst a controversy over her campaign against ABVP, which attracted alleged threats of rape and a virulent backlash, with even Union ministers joining the fray. MoS Home Kiren Rijiju also took aim at Kaur through a tweet on Monday, stating, “Who’s polluting this young girl's mind?” BJP MP from Mysuru’s Kodagu constituency, Pratap Simha compared her to 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim.
