Cops in UP go on buffalo search again

Lucknow: After a gap of almost three years, the UP police is back to buffalo hunting once again.

A buffalo and her calf have gone missing from a farmhouse of former Union minister Ram Lal Rahi in Sitapur district.

Mr Rahi is a Congress leader who served as the Union home minister of state in the Narasimha Rao government. Mr Rahi’s son Suresh is BJP MLA from Hargaon Assembly constituency in Sitapur.

After the buffaloes went missing on Saturday night and complaint was lodged on Sunday, the Sitapur police launched a search operation in the district.

Circle officer of Sitapur city, DSP Yogendra Singh said, “The farmhouse is located towards the rear side of district jail compound. Several caretakers remain present at the property but still buffaloes were stolen by miscreants”.
