Brain dead man in MP found to have pulse during autopsy
It was a rare medical case in which the heart and respiratory system stop functioning transiently in brain-dead patients.
Bhopal: A man declared “brain dead” after meeting with a fatal road accident in district headquarters town of Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh was on Monday found to have a pulse when doctors were preparing to perform an autopsy on him.
The doctors then shifted the road accident victim, Himansu Bhardwaj, to the ward where he was administered first aid before being referred to a specialised hospital in Nagpur, C. Gedam of Chhindwara district hospital said, adding that it was a rare medical case in which the heart and respiratory system stop functioning transiently in brain-dead patients.
