Congress chief holds ‘janta darbar’ in his constituency

Lucknow: Congress president Rahul Gandhi, on Wednesday, held a ‘janta darbar’ in his constituency Amethi during which he listened to the problems of the people.

Thousands of people thronged to the party office in Amethi to meet Rahul Gandhi, who is on a two- day visit to his parliamentary constituency.

Among those who met him were several physically challenged people, who had been unable to get government assistance and wanted Mr  Gandhi to pursue their case.

Mohammad Ayaz of Nihalgarh area of Jagdishpur assembly segment sought financial help for his house. He had been waiting since Wednesday night to meet the Congress president.

Mr Gandhi heard the people’s grievance till noon and thereafter visited the residence of martyred CRPF jawan Anil Maurya, who died during an ambush in Sukuma area of Chhattisgarh on April 20.

He also interacted with farmers at Mukutnath Inter College in Tala village and heard their problems.
