MHA asks states, UTs to be on high alert
New Delhi: Home ministry has issued an advisory to all states and UTs in wake of the 25th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition to maintain law and order and ensure that no communal tension or violence is triggered in any part of the country.
“Since this is the 25th anniversary of the Babri demolition and considering the sensitive nature of the incident we have sensitised all states and UTs to maintain maximum vigil and maintain peace at all cost,” a senior ministry official said.
The home ministry has advised the states and UTs to identify and deploy additional security personnel at sensitive places. The Special Branch and intelligence units of state police have been asked to keep a watch on possible miscreants so that they are not able to disrupt peace by creating some communal tension in wake of the Babri demolition anniversary.
