Rajasthan: 6 children die, 25 others injured in road accident

The passengers were on their way to Khanpur from Daulatpura village to attend a mass marriage ceremony.

Jaipur: Six children, aged between three to fifteen years, lost their lives when a tractor-trolley turned turtle in Swai Madhopur district last night.

In the tragic incident that occurred in the Rawanjana Dungar police station area, twenty-five other persons were also injured.

The passengers were on their way to Khanpur from Daulatpura village to attend a mass marriage ceremony.

However the tractor-trolley they were traveling in turned turtle while taking a sharp turn.

Priyanka Bairwa (15) died on the spot whereas Shivani Bairwa (8), Hasina Bairwa (5), Vishakha Bairwa (3), Bhawna Bairwa (8) and Manish Bairwa (12) succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

They were all part of an extended family, it is learnt. The 25 injured patients are being treated at government hospital in Swai Madhopur, investigating officer in the case, Ravindra Singh told PTI.

He said that the bodies were handed over to family members after post-mortem.
