Donation scam in Ram temple?

Lucknow: Mahant Satyendra Das , the head priest of the makeshift Ram temple in Ayodhya, has accused an official of making away with cash and jewels worth crores of rupees that were given in donation at the temple.

The priest has alleged that one Basant Lal Maurya, an official in the receiver’s office, is behind the scam. “Basant Lal Maurya has taken away jewels and money worth crores of rupees. There is no mention of donations received after 2000. Maurya has suddenly acquired property during this period,” he said.
