Lucknow: BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj said that if the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya does not begin before 2019, he would stand with the saints and revolt against the BJP.

“Whatever I am today is because of the blessings of Lord Ram and the BJP has also reached its present position because of the saints and Lord Ram. The government may not be serious but the saints have decided that if the government does not bring an ordinance, they will begin construction work after December 6,” he said.

He said that time had come for temple construction to begin and we want that the temple should be completed before the Lok Sabha elections.

Sakshi Maharaj has always generated controversies with his statements and the BJP has chosen to ignore him.

“He is a saints and he can say what he wants. The government will do what is best on the issue and we are not going to succumb to threats like these,” said a BJP functionary.
