BJP launches campaign themes on PM's honesty'

The BJP leadership, including party president Amit Shah and chief ministers of NDA ruled states are expected to accompany him.

New Delhi: The BJP on Sunday officially announced its 2019’s Lok Sabha campaign themes focusing on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's “honesty”, “ability to take major decisions” and Modi-led NDA government’s five-year performance, including on the national security front.

Launching ‘Phir ek bar, Modi sarkar’ (Modi government, once more) campaign theme, the BJP asserted that the people will chose between Mr Modi led “cohesive and tested” NDA government or “chaos and mahamilawat” offered by the opposition.

Also, Mr Modi will be filing his nominations from Varanasi on April 26 after seeking blessing from Baba Vishwanath. Just like in 2014, he will hold a roadshow on April 25 from Ravidas gate in Lanka area to Godholia. The BJP leadership, including party president Amit Shah and chief ministers of NDA ruled states are expected to accompany him.

Varanasi will go to polls in the last phase of elections to be held on May 19 and nominations will begin from April 22. The BJP’s manifesto is expected to be released on Monday.

Union minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who officially launched the party’s campaign themes, said, “The poor, the middle class and the neo-middle class will be at the centre of the BJP’s electioneering and took a swipe at the Con-gress for ‘not even saying a word’ on the emerging middle class when it launched its manifesto.”

Taking a swipe at the Opposition, Mr Jaitley said people have to decide between a government led by one captain or a team of 11 players, and that of 40 captains. Mr Jaitley, along with Railways minister Piyush Goyal and BJP general secretary Bh-upender Yadav, among ot-hers, addressed a conference in this regard where they also released slogans and video materials for the party's campaign.

The theme song 'Phir ek baar Modi sarkar banate hain(let's elect the Modi government again,) phir se kamal khilate hain(let the lotus blossom again)"". The video of the song also contains screenshots of newspaper reports of India's recent airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan.
