Amethi: A man from Amethi has sent a letter written in blood to the Election Commission seeking directive for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to abstain from making objectionable remarks that hurt the sentiments of the people, reported IANS.

The man has been identified as Manoj Kashyap wrote that he was ‘traumatised’ by the statements made by PM Modi against Rajiv Gandhi.

"Former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee had also praised Rajiv Gandhi in an article," he added.

He wrote that for the people of Amethi, anyone who insults Rajiv Gandhi is akin to those who assassinated him.

Kashyap said that the letter had no political agenda and he felt emotionally connected to the late leader.

Kashyap wrote that Prime Minister must be directed not to make such remarks against the late leader. He was referring to PM Modi’s remark on late Rajiv Gandhi as 'Bhrashtachari No 1' in a recent election rally.

The letter has been shared on the Twitter handle of Congress MLC Deepak Singh.
