New Delhi: The national capital woke up to the shocking news of five brutal murders. Among the murdered are an octogenarian woman and her three daughters along with their security guard. All of them were found stabbed to death at their house in East Delhi on Saturday morning.

The gruesome murder took place in Shahdara’s Mansarovar Park area. The four women were living in a joint family with 30 other family members in the same residential complex where the fifth murdered worked as the security guard. The city police has gone into a tizzy to ascertain whether it was murder for gain, a property dispute, or any other reason. It is probing into the same.

The police said that the family owns the Jindal Oil Mill in the national capital. There were 45 members in the family living in their ancestral house. The Jindals are five bothers. The family, which was stabbed to death, was of Ram Kishan Jindal, the third brother. He had passed away six years ago. The source of income of his family was to rent out properties that they had owned.

According to the police, the deceased are Urmila Jindal (82) and her three daughters, Sangeeta Gupta (56), Nupur (48), and Anjali (38). The security guard has been identified as Rakesh (42).

“While Urmila’s husband had died a few years ago, she lived with her three daughters. Two of them were unmarried and the third one was a wido-w,” said a senior officer.

The brutal murder, which took place at GT Road in Mansarovar Park, has left the denizens in a state of utter shock.

Preliminary probe reveals that the assailants had made a friendly entry into the house as there are no visible signs of forced entry. According to DCP Nupur Prasad, the murders came to light around 7.15 am on Saturday.

“All five of them had been stabbed to death. It appears, a knife was used in the murder. Urmila’s family was among the seven that share a property. Each family had carved out a space for themselves and built a house. They had collectively hired a security guard,” she said.

The bodies of the four women were found on the first floor of the building while the body of the security guard was found in the parking area on the ground floor. Given the nature of murders, the police has formed multiple teams to identify and nab the suspects.

However, they are clueless about the killers so far. Police sources said that the property angle is being probed among other motives behind the murder. It is also learnt that there was some dispute in the family over the selling of a property.

A case of murder has been registered. The local police, along with the sleuths of the crime branch, has taken up the case and is probing into the same.

When the police along with the sniffer squad and forensic experts reached the spot, they found it ransacked. However, the gold jewellery worn by the women was found intact. What is even more surprising is that the entire family was wiped out but none came to know about the murders.
