UP civic polls over, but no holiday for BJP cadres
Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh is in no mood to allow its cadres to enjoy their recent win in mayoral polls.
The party wants to keep its cadres in a poll mode and remain active in party work.
State BJP president Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey said that the BJP had a robust organization that remained constantly in motion. “Our strength lies in our cadres and we keep the cadres moving. Irrespective of the fact that an election is round the corner or not, we continue working and that is the hallmark of the BJP”.
The municipal elections are over but an Assembly by-election in Sikandra in Kanpur Dehat is scheduled for later this month. The seat fell vacant following the death of BJP MLA Mathura Pal. The party has named his son, Ajit Pal as its candidate.
BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak has been holding series of meetings in the region to prepare the cadres for the by-elections.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party believes in keeping every party worker actively involved. There is no such thing as a rest period for us. We have finished with municipal elections and are now preparing for assembly by-election. As soon as this is over, we will start working for by-elections in the Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha seats that have been vacated by Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Maurya.”
