Rising BSP forces BJP to turn to Babasaheb
Lucknow: The resurgence of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the recent municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh has put the BJP on its toes.
The Yogi Adityanath government is now going an extra mile to reach out to dalits and prevent the return of the vote bank to the BSP and for this, the state government has decided to ‘eulogise Dr Ambedkar’, one of the biggest dalit icons.
After paying glorious tributes to Ambedkar on his death anniversary on Wednesday, the chief minister also ordered that all government offices in the state will have to put up a photograph of B.R. Ambedkar.
Photographs of Ambedkar had adorned the walls of all government offices in the previous Mayawati regime but were taken off after the Samajwadi Party came to power.
The return of Ambedkar photographs is a clear indication that the Yogi Adityanath government wants to assert it pro-Ambedkar leanings now.
