Missing' Rahul Gandhi posters pop up in Amethi

The posters carry Mr Gandhi's picture and also announce a suitable reward for anyone who can trace the missing MP.

Lucknow: Dozens of posters describing Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi as “missing” have come up in Amethi which is his parliamentary constituency. The posters carry Mr Gandhi’s picture and also announce a “suitable reward” for anyone who can trace the missing MP. The posters, however, have not been attributed to any individual or organisation.

The locals claimed that Mr Gandhi had not visited his parliamentary constituency for six months now, making his voters upset. The posters claimed that Mr Gandhi had insulted his voters with his behaviour.

While Congress workers in the district accuse the Bhartiya Janata Party and other political opponents for putting up the posters, most of which are in Gauriganj area, the political opponents said that this reflected the anger against the MP.

The posters also blamed Mr Gandhi’s absence for the slowing down of development work initiated from MP Local Area Development fund. Similar posters have come up twice before — once on the eve of the Assembly elections — in Amethi.
