Name kin who fought for freedom: Kamal Nath to PM

Addressing the Seva Dal workers of Congress here, Mr Nath said the PM and the BJP should not teach Congress on nationalism.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath on Thursday dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give ‘name of even one member of his family and relations who had participated in freedom movement of India’.

Addressing the Seva Dal workers of Congress here, Mr Nath said the PM and the BJP should not teach Congress on nationalism. No BJP leader had participated in freedom movement.

“I dare the PM to give name of even one member of his family and relations who had participated in the freedom movement,” he said and added, “It is Congress which gained freedom for the country”.

BJP spokesman Rajnish Agrawal castigated the chief minister for his statement, saying, “The chief minister should remember that one dynasty alone had not fought for freedom. Rather, millions of people of the country had joined the freedom movement. The first freedom movement in India had taken birth even before the Congress party was born,” he said.
