Lucknow: An angry mob on Saturday attacked a Jawed Habib salon in Unnao district and vandalised the property to protest against the use of Hindu gods’ caricature in one of his advertisements.
This is the second outlet to be vandalised. The protesters had earlier vandalised an outlet in Motinagar in Lucknow.
According to reports, the mob comprised supporters of Hindu Jagran Manch and some customers were trapped in-side during the incident.
The activists of the Hindu outfit also threatened the owner to wind up his business or face consequences, following which a police complaint was filed. A police team visited the salon and took some eyewitne-ss account of the attack.
