Technology use can bolster NMR rides'

Twenty new locomotives are necessarily, needed, while 12 are in action, the rest be as spares.

Ooty: President of TNTS Prof. T.M. Kullan said that his organisation wanted the government to use the technological advancements to bolster NMR rides. "NMR, being an effective mass-transport, carrying a minimum of 200 passengers at a time in 5 bogies is a boon to traveler, whereas we need 4 buses to ferry 200 passengers. In this way fuel and wear and tear aspects are saved. (Now only four bogies are used). His suggestion goes as follows: "Now, what is the alternative remedy to bolster-up the NMR to full-fledged service oriented mechanism? The NMR's infrastructure is in its full “intactness”, excepting the locomotives which are less-effective in propelling powers. To ensure quick, steady and regular services new powerful locomotives are to be made ready to increase the speed. It is a technological world. So nothing is impossible. The magic of the NMR’s magnetic services lie on two strategies. One is to increase in speed module to cover the total distance of 46-km in less than at least three hours The other is, to increase the number of trips by six both ways. Twenty new locomotives are necessarily, needed, while 12 are in action, the rest be as spares. This would enable them to have hassle-free trips.”
