Odisha man found dead with throat slit, genitals mutilated

Bhubaneswar: A gruesome murder was on Saturday reported from Odisha’s Balasore district where a person was found dead with his throat slit and genitals severed inside a house.

The deceased was identified as Bijay Singh (40), son of Ghanasyam Singh and resident of Kesura village in Jamudiha panchayat under Nilgiri police limits.

According to reports, Bijay was alone at his home as his wife and two daughters had left for his in-laws house at Sajanagarh on Friday. Even his parents stay separately at a place, 5 km away from home.

The incident took place on Friday night when he was sleeping at his home. After Bijay did not open door till 9.00 AM on Saturday, his neighbours informed his family.

They broke open the door and found him lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

“Prima facie, the person was brutally killed. His throat was slit and genitals mutilated. However, the reason behind brutal killing is yet to be ascertained. However, we are hopeful that the accused will be apprehended soon as we have got some vital leads to crack the case,” the local police said.
