Bihar: Motorbike sticks into Rajdhani engine, no casualty
Khagaria: Passengers of New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express had a narrow escape when a motorcycle got stuck into its engine at an unmanned level crossing in Bihar's Khagaria district on Sunday, RPF said.
However, no casualty or injury was reported.
The incident occurred when a man riding a motorcycle was trying to cross the level crossing near Collectorate in Khagaria town when the Dibrugarh bound Rajdhani Express was rushing towards the spot.
The two-wheeler got stuck in the railway track, but before the train could hit it, the man jumped off the bike and fled from the spot, RPF Inspector Prem Shankar Sharma said.
The Rajdhani Express hit the bike within moments and it got stuck in the train's engine which dragged it for around 3 km before the driver applied emergency brake and the train came to a stop.
After a five-minute break required to take the bike out of the engine, the train resumed its journey, Sharma said.
The damaged bike has been seized by the police.
The RPF inspector said the owner of the bike was yet to be identified as the number plate got crushed in the accident.
