Congress leader tells farmers to attack MP govt

State home minister Bhupendra Singh condemned the speech and indicated that action would be taken against him under the law.

Bhopal: Even as anger fuelled by the June-6 killing of six farmers in the police firing at Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh continued to simmer, a Congress leader on Monday called upon the tillers to attack the state government to avenge the deaths.

Satna district Congress president Dilip Mishra delivered a provocative speech at a meeting called at Sirpur in the district to mourn the death of the slain farmers by giving a call to the tillers to open fire at the “state government” in retaliation to the killings of their fraternity members.

“The time has come for the farmers to open fire on the state government under the leadership of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Ajey Singh,” he said in the presence of the CLP leader. “I appeal to the farmers to fire at those who killed democracy, who killed farmers. People of MP will also fire at the state government,” he said.

The ruling BJP filed a complaint with the local administration seeking action against the Congress leader for inciting people to indulge in violence.

State home minister Bhupendra Singh condemned the speech and indicated that action would be taken against him under the law.
