MP Cong HQ under renovation for Vaastu compliance
Bhopal: The Congress seems to think that one of the key factors that has prevented it from returning to power in Madhya Pradesh for the past 14 years is the position of the toilets in the party’s state headquarters here.
The Congress Bhavan here is being made free of Vaastu “dosh (problems)”, following recommendations by experts in the field who have identified the wrong placement of toilets in the office as one of the key factors behind the party’s debacles in the last three Assembly elections, a senior Congress leader told this newspaper on Thursday.
“The toilets in the third floor of the Congress Bhavan are facing east, which is considered inauspicious as per Vaastu shastra. East facing toilets cause hindrance to progress and mental agony to the property owner. Hence, we have started dismantling toilets to make the building Vaastu compliant”, the Congress leader said under the condition of anonymity.
The party’s spokesperson, K.K. Mishra, however tried to underplay the issue saying, “If we seek the help of people to dislodge the BJP from power in the state, then what is wrong in asking for divine intervention for the purpose”.
“Primarily, two Vaastu-related problems have been identified in the Congress Bhavan. Besides, the wrong placement of toilets in the third floor where Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Arun Yadav and other PCC office bearers run their offices, it has also been found that the water tank has been built in the wrong direction,” sources said.
Renovation work in the building has already begun to make it Vaastu complaint.
