Ulfa trying to whip up anti-India sentiments

Security sources said that they have recovered some video shot by six youths where were arrested by the police.

Guwahati: Assam Police on Tuesday said that they have arrested few United Liberation Front of Assam (Ulfa-I) sympathisers who were planning to construct a video of burning national flag and hoisting the Ulfa-I flag by some youths in interior of Dhemaji district.

Informing that these Ulfa-I sympathisers wanted to upload these videos on social networking sites to whip up anti-India sentiments, security sources told this newspaper that police have succeeded in foiling this attempt and arrested at least six youths.

Indicating that some new recruits and sympathisers of Ulfa-I have been assigned the task of using the cyber space extensively to propagate anti-India sentiment, security sources said that they have recovered some video shot by six youths where were arrested by the police.

“Four boys were seen burning down two National Flags and hoisting a flag of the Ulfa-I in the video recorded in a place near the Dhemaji-Arunachal Pradesh boundary,” said the senior police officer who were involved in the operations. “We have intensified the deployment alo-ng the vulnerable areas,” said the senior officer.
