Bhopal: Two Madhya Pradesh women on Friday thrashed an official of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Department. They accused him of molesting a girl during a raid in Maheshwar.

The incident took place when an excise department team raided a house over the sale of illegal liquor, in the district on Friday, NDTV reported.

In a video, that is doing rounds on social media shows the residents of the house arguing with the excise team. A woman is seen beating an official, accusing him of molesting his daughter.

While slapping the official, they closed the main door of the house to stop him from escaping. Other women are seen joining the woman in hitting the official and abusing him. The official tries to pacify the women but they refuse to back off. Other officials present on the site, however, refused to intervene.

A case has been filed against the official and the women.
