CRPF jawan's video draws government's attention
New Delhi: A video uploaded by a CRPF constable recently on Facebook, in which he alleged that paramilitary force, including central police forces, personnel like himself had been shortchanged due to lack of adequate service facilities, including pay disparity compared to the Army personnel, has apparently drawn the attention of the government, with the finance ministry reportedly examining the implications and the nature of the alleged disparities.
The paramilitary force personnel want restoration of their pension facilities, which were stopped earlier since retired Army personnel continue to enjoy such benefits. They also want the OROP announced for former Armed forces personnel, which means grant of the same pension according to rank and years of service irrespective of date of retirement. They have also demanded medical facilities like ECHS and CGHS and additional medical allowance of Rs 3,000.
