Bhubaneswar: In a move that could inspire countless girls, a bride in Odisha’s Sambalpur district called off her wedding and rejected the groom after he was found drunk in the marriage ‘mandap’, reports said on Tuesday. The wedding was scheduled to take place at Jujumura village of Sambalpur district on Sunday. As per reports, the marriage party initially reached Jujumura and had food before heading towards the marriage ‘mandap’. The groom, Surendra from Nakatideula village, meanwhile was so drunk that he lost his balance while reaching the ‘mandap’. The sight was so disturbing for the bride Mamata that she refused to marry him. Although attempts were made to pacify her, she did not agree. “The groom was drunk and was unable to sit in the ‘mandap’ due to which the girl rejected him.
