Omar to governor: Don't interfere in J&K politics
Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah on Tuesday asked governor Satya Pal Malik not to interference in the politics of the State but create conditions conducive for free and fair elections.
“Governor Sahib’s job is not to interfere in the politics here. Politics is our job. The sole responsibility of the Governor and his administration is to make the situation favourable for the conduct of elections so that people can once again take part in the democratic process,” he said while speaking at a rally of National Conference workers in southern Kulgam district.
Later, talking to reporters, he while reacting to Mr Malik’s remarks that no “Operation All-out” was being spearheaded by the security forces to take on militants, he said, “People are now confused as, on one hand, we listen to (about) ‘Operation All-out’ from the Army and, on the other, we hear from the Governor that there is no such operation.”
