Yogeshwar, Malikayya upset BSY calculations

The sitting MLAs who lost include C.P. Yogeshwar from Chennapatna and Malikayya Guttedar from Afzalpur.

Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister and the BJP’s CM candidate B.S.Yeddyurappa had predicted that his party would get more than 125 seats but to his misfortune, 13 sitting MLAs of BJP were defeated upsetting his calculations.

The sitting MLAs who lost include C.P. Yogeshwar from Chennapatna and Malikayya Guttedar from Afzalpur.

Both had defected from the Congress and joined the BJP.

Some BJP MLAs faced anti-incumbency in their respective constituencies. B.Suresh Gowda, sitting MLA of Tumakuru Rural lost to JD(S) candidate D.C. Gowrishankar, T.H. Suresh Babu, Kampli MLA lost to Congress candidate J.N. Ganesh, Raichur MLA, Tipparaju lost to Congress candidate Basavanagowda Daddal, Sringeri MLA, D.N. Jeevaraj lost to Congress candidate T.D. Rajegowda, Hirekeruru MLA, U.B. Banakar lost to Congress candidate Basavanagowda Patil, Shahpur MLA, Gurupatil lost to Sharanabasappa Darshanapura, the Congress candidate. Athani MLA, Laxman Savadi lost to Congress candidate Mahesh Iranagowda Kumathalli, Hebbal MLA, Y.N. Narayanaswamy lost to Congress candidate Byrathi Suresh, Belagavi Rural MLA, Sanjay Patil lost to Congress candidate Laxmi Hebbalkar, Dasarahalli MLA, S.Muniraju lost to JD(S) candidate R. Manjunath, Kushtagi MLA, Doddanagowda Patil has lost to Congress candidate Amaregowda Patil, Kagwad MLA, Raju Kage lost to Shrimant Patil and KGF party candidate Ashwini Sampangi lost to Congress candidate Roopalaxmi.
