Enforcement Directorate plans to question Misa Bharti, husband again
New Delhi: Tough days are ahead for RJD MP Misa Bharti and her husband, Shailesh Kumar, as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is preparing to question them, along with Rajesh Agarwal, a Chartered Accountant in judicial custody, in the next round of questioning in a probe into a Rs 8,000-crore money laundering case.
It is suspected that Mr Aggarwal is linked to Ms Bharti and he provided accommodation entries (black funds) of at least Rs 60 lakh to M/s Mishail Printers and Packers Private Limited.
“Bharti and her husband are alleged to have been directors of this firm in the past. During investigation, the agency found that 1,20,000 shares of M/s Mishail Printers and Packers Private Limited were bought during 2007-08 at a rate of Rs 100 per share by four shell companies — M/s Shalini Holdings Limited, M/s Ad-Fin Capital Services (India) Pvt. Ltd, M/s Mani Mala Delhi Properties Pvt. Ltd., and M/s Diamond Vinimay Pvt. Ltd. These shares were allegedly bought back by Ms Bharti at Rs 10 per share,” sources said.
The ED, recently, questioned Shailesh Kumar in connection with the case. He may be interrogated again on Monday. The agency also questioned Misa Bharti on July 10.
“Now, the agency is planning to confront Misa and Shailesh with Rajesh Agarwal,” sources said.
The ED, on July 8, conducted searches at three Delhi farmhouses of Ms Bharti, her husband and the firm.
The ED raids had come a day after the CBI raided multiple premises of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family in a corruption case.
