Bengaluru wedding: Mining baron pulls out all stops for daughter

Bengaluru: A Rolls Royce Phantom car, horse drawn chariots … all the trappings of a royal wedding are in place, with a Tollywood touch. The venue, Palace Grounds on Vasanth Nagar Road, has now transformed into a concept village – is all set for the Wednesday’s big fat wedding.

“If the Tuesday’s rituals and ceremonies that were meant only for the family members of the bride and groom were of this grandeur, imagine the fat wedding on Wednesday,” said Sadiq Anjum, a Shivajinagar based décor, who rented his 25 white horses along with half a dozen chariots.

The bride and groom with their respective family members were seen taking out a procession in these chariots on Tuesday, the day four since the wedding preparations started. The main gate of Palace Grounds on Vasanth Nagar was heavily decorated with nearly a dozen gigantic balloons that were flying up in the air had the picture of Janardhan Reddy’s family welcoming the guests for the wedding, circling in the skies.

“Preparations for the wedding started on Saturday, Day 1 at the Palace Grounds with the wedding planners recreating the entire village of the bride Brahmini, daughter of the mining baron Gaali Janardhan Reddy. The creation included Brahmini’s school, the family’s palatial house in Ballari and their temple deity at their village,” said Sai Prakash, actor and director at Tollywood, who was overseeing the wedding arrangements and management.

Day 2 on Sunday was called Sangeeth, where the family members of both the bride and groom feasted to musical events in which they too participated, sources said. Day 3 was ‘Mehendi’ and Day 4 (Tuesday) was ‘Jante Nalagu’ according to Telugu rituals.
