Pema Khandu slams Congress for branding BJP anti-Christian

If it is so, how so many Christian MLAs of Arunachal Pradesh joined the BJP? Most of them are frontline leaders in the politics of my state.

Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu came down heavily on the ruling Congress Party for painting the BJP as anti-Christian party while referring to the “beef ban” in Meghalaya.

Former Congress-turned-BJP chief minister, Mr Khandu, addressing a meeting of the BJP workers in Kharkutta in Meghalaya’s North Garo Hills, said, “Let the Congress show the notification by which beef-eating has been banned. They have no issue to talk about so they are involved in this false propaganda to brand the BJP as anti-Christian.”

He asked, “Where is the ban on consumption of beef?” Mr Khandu, himself a Buddhist, said, “In fact, the Congress has not been able to find any fault in the BJP, so they are hatching a conspiracy to defame the party by tagging it as ‘anti-Christian’.” “If it is so, how so many Christian MLAs of Arunachal Pradesh joined the BJP? Most of them are frontline leaders in the politics of my state.”
