VHP varsity will begin session from next year

The university is expected to draw heavily from Vedic knowledge and is in the process of finalisation of its academic curriculum.

New Delhi: The Ashok Singhal Ved Vigyan Evam Praudyogikee Vishwavidhyalay, the first university backed by Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) affiliate Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is likely to begin its first academic session from next year.

The university is expected to draw heavily from Vedic knowledge and is in the process of finalisation of its academic curriculum.

Sources stated that various Vedic era rituals like conduct of some classes under Vrikshav-atikas and chanting of vedic hymns, ancient Hindu texts and Gita throughout the campus during morning and evening hours through public address system would also be practiced.

This newspaper had, on May 15 last year, first reported that VHP has purchased 40 acres of land in Gururgam for the establishment of this first university in the country. There would be a dedicated cow shelter, temple, meditation Hall and yajnashala on the campus, sources said.

The project is the brainchild of the sangh which wants to reestablish the country as a “vishwaguru”. It will also aim to create a platform for modern scientists, technologists and traditional vedic pandits to generate comprehensive stream of knowledge of ancient India, sources added.

In all 20 subjects are likely to be taught at the University, which inclu-des Agriculture, Archi-tecture, Environment Science, Paleography, War-fare. Ayurveda will also be taught.
