Hyderabad: City resident Poonam Surana of Bowenpally visited five ATMs of various banks but could still not withdraw cash as a majority of ATMs in the city are running dry. The situation has turned worst as Rs 2,000 notes are just not available.

Most ATMs have displayed boards stating “no cash” or “temporarily out of service”. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are among the other Indian states that have been repeatedly facing a cash crunch. Citizens say there has been a scarcity of currency since January and ATMs are not loaded with cash for a prolonged period.
