Uninterrupted coverage of Lok Sabha results on Doordarshan

The 2019 Lok Sabha electoral process coverage has been the biggest ever embarked upon by the national broadcaster.

New Delhi: The public service broadcaster, Prasar Bharati, has made unprecedented arrangements for uninterrupted and extensive coverage coverage of 2019 Lok Sabha results.  Doordarshan News, has placed 51 reporters across the country, including outreach states like North East, Andaman Nicobar and Leh, for wide and accurate reporting.  

For the first time, All India Radio, will continuously broadcast special programme on election results for 40 hours. The 2019 Lok Sabha electoral process coverage has been the biggest ever embarked upon by the national broadcaster.  

With the digital penetration of the country at an all time high, a provision has been also been made for a simultaneous coverage and live telecast of the DD News feed on social media sites like YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.

After a successful coverage of general elections over the seven phase process, live OBs and DSNG will be deployed at 51 points for an in depth coverage.  

Special election programme, Janadesh, which has been aired daily and completed 70 episodes, will be aired from Vijay Chowk on result day.  

During its electroal process coverage DD News also conducted coverage of over 200 rallies of various political parties. During this period over 300 political stories were also telecast on the channel, sources added.

While the News Services Division of All India Radio has made elaborate arrangements for providing authentic and latest results of Lok Sabha elections.

Apart from continuously broadcast special programme on election results for 40 hours, AIR News will mount “Special Janadesh 2019” — bilingual programme in Hindi and English — from 7 am on May 23 to 11 pm on May 24. The programme will be broadcast on AIR FM Gold and other channels. It will also be available live on official YouTube channel of AIR News. AIR correspondents from across all corners of the country will continuously provide latest live updates.
