Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh health minister has landed into another controversy when he expressed his desire to occupy one of the bungalows vacated recently by former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Siddharth Nath Singh, whose letter went viral on the social media on Tuesday, has cited lack of space in his present bungalow in Gautam Palli. The bungalow presently occupied by the health minister is for principal secretary rank officials.

“I face a lot of inconvenience due to lack of space, said Siddharth Nath Singh.

“I request allotment of bungalow number 4 at Vikramaditya Marg or bungalow number 5 on the same road,” Mr Singh added.

Mr Singh’s letter has created a major controversy with opposition leaders questioning his haste in grabbing the palatial bungalows.

The BJP has chosen to maintain a silence on the controversy. On June 2, Akhilesh vacated his official residence and shifted at the Ansal API Township on Sultanpur road in Lucknow.
