Kalraj Mishra: Have not been appointed Bihar governor

The minister told reporters that to the best of his knowledge, he was not going anywhere from his present post.

Lucknow: Kalraj Mishra, Union minister for micro, small and medium enterprises, has dismissed reports about being appointed the Bihar governor. The minister told reporters that to the best of his knowledge, he was not going anywhere from his present post.

There has been speculations about Mr Misra being eased out of the Union ministry and being appointed the Bihar governor after the upcoming reshuffle of the Modi Cabinet.

Sources said that Mr Misra had already crossed the age limit of 75 years set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his Cabinet colleagues but he would be suitably rewarded with a gubernatorial assignment in view of his good performance.

Mr Misra, for long, has been the Brahmin face of the BJP in UP, and the party would not shun him completely in view of the fact that the BJP leadership is determined to repeat its success story in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
