Militant hideout unearthed in J&K's Kangan

A search operation was launched by security forces in Cheki Akhaal forests in Kangan area, 40 kms from Srinagar, following a tip off.

Srinagar: Security forces on Monday unearthed a militant hideout in Kangan area of central Kashmir's Ganderbal district and recovered arms and ammunition, the police said.

A search operation was launched by security forces in Cheki Akhaal forests in Kangan area, 40 kms from Srinagar, following a tip off, a police official said.

He said during the searches, a militant hideout was unearthed.

An AK assault rifle, two AK magazines and 44 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the hideout.

Police have registered a case in this regard.
