Prepare for temple construction, says Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, in a significant move, has asked BJP cadres to start preparing for temple construction in Ayodhya.
Addressing a gathering in Gorakhpur on the occasion of Dusshera, late on Friday evening, the chief minister said, “Like the grandeur of Ram Lila, we should now start preparing for a grand Ram temple,” he said.
Mr Adityanath’s statement comes close on the heels of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement in which he had asked the Modi government to bring in an ‘appropriate and requisite law’ to build the Ram temple.
The RSS chief had said, “The construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is necessary from the self-esteem point of view and will pave the way for an atmosphere of goodwill and unity. There is sufficient evidence to prove that there was a temple that existed there before the mosque was built but the land is yet to be allocated for temple construction,” he had said.
The Shiv Sena, an ally of the BJP, has also exp-ressed resentment at the delay in constructing the Ram temple. Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has announced that he will visit Ayodhya on Nove-mber 25 – a clear indication that the Sena is all set to play the temple card.
“We want to warn those who think that the power of Hindutva has diminished. We are unhappy over the delay in temple construction,” the Shiv Sena chief had said.
