Massive cheating racket busted in Aligarh, 62 held
Lucknow: The UP police has unearthed a massive cheating racket and have arrested 62 persons in this connection. The accused have been arrested from the house of BJP leader Bhuvendra Sharma, whose uncle is the school manager.
According to the police, the suspects were caught writing copies while the students were giving exam in the building of Bhorey Kishan Lal Sharma Inter College, Tebatu, located just 50 meters from the house where the raid was conducted.
SSP, Aligarh, Rajesh Pandey said that the mastermind of the racket, Ram Kumar Sharma, has also been arrested and he is also the relative of Lakhan Sharma, who works in district inspector of school (DIOS), Aligarh office. Lakhan is the in charge of examination centre in the district.
“We are video recording the statements of people who were involved in this mass copying. Investigations are on and we are inquiring about how they were operating the entire racket,” the SSP said.
The modus operandi of the college operator was that the accused persons were handed over answers of all the questions and they had to just copy the same on the answersheet. Each student was asked to pay Rs 30,00 for getting the written copy.
