Admission of 85 MBBS students scrapped
While meritorious students of Madhya Pradesh were denied admission, non-domiciles, who even did not participate in the counseling.
Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh high court has scrapped admission of 85 MBBS students, admitted in various private medical colleges in the state in 2017 under “non-domicile” quota.
The verdict came on Friday in response to a petition filed by one Pranshu Agrawal who said that the admissions were made in fraudulent manner by the college authorities concerned to make money depriving the meritorious domicile students to pursue medicine.
Delivering the judgment, a division bench of the high court, however, made it clear that the domicile MBBS students who took admissions in these colleges would not be affected by the verdict.
The petition had alleged that the private medical colleges in connivance with directorate of medical education (DME) officials has “sold” the seats on which admissions were given during “mop-up” round of counseling in September, 2017.
