NSUI prez seeking sexual favours for party posts'
New Delhi: In a late night development, a woman member of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) from Chattisgarh, the students’ body of the Congress, alleged that NSUI president Fairoz Khan “has been abetting female members make sexual relations with him in lieu of political posts”.
The woman member in her letter states that she is “devoted and committed” to the Congress ideology and its president Rahul Gandhi. She also alleged that Mr Khan has “mentally tortured her and her younger sister by asking them to come to his room”.
In a letter that is reportedly being circulated, she alleges that there are many other female members of the NSUI who have faced a similar predicament. However Mr Khan has denied all the allegations and said that he has only met the woman concerned in a professional capacity. But she alleged that there is no internal committee in NSUI that can redress these issues. Ruchi Gupta, who is the NSUI in-charge for the AICC, too has not addressed the issue, she added.
Ms Gupta said that she knows this woman and has interacted with her, but on this issue she (the woman) has never spoken to her. It is a pity that the woman instead of raising the issue with the organisation, has decided to go to the media, Ms Gupta added.
