PM Modi, Amit Shah to sound poll bugle in MP today
Bhopal:Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with BJP president Amit Shah, is set to blow the poll bugle for the party in election-bound Madhya Pradesh here on Tuesday.
Mr Modi was scheduled to address a mega conclave of the party cadres, called “Kar-yakarta Mahakumbh”, in which an estimated 10 lakh people were expected to turn out to give them tips on wooing voters towards the BJP in the year-end Assembly elections in MP.
“This would be the fourth ‘karyakarta mahakumbh’ being organised ahead of Assembly elections in the last four years. The party cadres drawn across the state will gather here and then spread to their areas to work for victory of the party in the elections,” a spokesman of BJP here said.
The Jamboori ground here has been spruced up to stage the mega event on Monday. Nine special trains have been requisitioned.and hundreds of buses and other vehicles were deployed to carry party workers from across the state to Bhopal to attend the occasion, he added.
This will be the first time in MP that PM Modi and Mr Shah would be seen on the same platform. Earlier, the party faced some hitches to arrange transportation of workers at various places following the decision by bus operators not to deploy their vehicles for the purpose.
But, the matter has been resolved now, a BJP leader said.
