Chandigarh: It’s time for son rise in Haryana as many senior leaders are seeking tickets for their progenies. With Union minister Birender Singh offering to resign from the Rajya Sabha after the BJP announced a ticket for his son Brijendra Singh from Hisar, the season of son rise begins in Haryana. Many other leaders are trying to secure tickets for their children. Kuldeep Bishnoi of the Congress is also desiring a ticket for his son. Former Speaker Kupdeep Sharma wants a ticket for his son from Kurukshetra. Similarly, many leaders are seeking tickets for their children.

The first to secure ticket for his son is Union steel minister Chaudhary Birender Singh, who offered to resign from the Union Cabinet and the Rajya Sabha as his son has got a Lok Sabha ticket.

Birender Singh, grandson of Jat icon and farmer leader Sir Chhotu Ram, said he wants to send across a message of anti-dynasty politics as his son has got the Lok Sabha ticket.

Currently, he is a Rajya Sabha member of the BJP from Haryana and his wife is an MLA in Haryana Assembly. His son Brijendra, who has been nominated as the BJP candidate for Lok Sabha from Hisar, was an IAS officer.

Kuldeep Bishnoi, senior Congress MLA, is keen to launch his son Bhavya from Hisar. Hoping to make his political debut in the Lok Sabha polls, Bhavya Bishnoi is a third-generation politician in Haryana and grandson of three-time chief minister Bhajan Lal.

Twentysix-year-old Bhavya Bishnoi is quite active on social media platforms, through which he updates his supporters on his activities and blueprint for development in the agrarian state.

Besides issuing video messages on social media platforms, he shares his vision for Hisar and makes an appeal to the voters to carefully elect their next representatives. Bhavya has also released a vision document for Hisar which focuses on agriculture, employment and rural economy.

Similarly, former Haryana Speaker Kuldeep Sharma is seeking a break for his 34-year-old son Panchari Pandit from Karnal.

Sources reveal that if the party gave the Hisar ticket to Bishnoi’s son, Mr Pandit’s chances would also go up. The Hooda camp, in such a situation, would push for Panchari’s candidature.

Haryana is not new to the rise of children of top politicians. Three-time Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda is son of former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and former MP Shruti Choudhry is the daughter of Congress Legislature Party leader Kiran Choudhry and granddaughter of former chief minister Bansi Lal. The INLD, which now has breakaway faction JJP, has also seen its leaders’ fourth generation in politics. JJP MP Dushyant Chautala is the great grandson of former deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal.
