Over 12 lakh at Puri Rathyatra

Puri (Odisha): Braving intermittent spells of rain and extreme humid conditions, over 12 lakh devotees from across the country and abroad swelled up in the pilgrim city Puri and witnessed Lord Jagannath’s annual Car Festival.

The nine-day festival, also known in many other names such as Ghosha Yatra, Srigundicha Yatra and Rath Yatra, was aired live by dozens of television channels, including national televisions, reaching out millions of devotees around the world.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik and several of his ministers, Odisha High Court judges and many other VVIPs witnessed the colourful festival.
