Goa: Man 'flaunts' CMO 'contacts' to avoid traffic fine; CM orders probe

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday asked state DGP to inquire into an incident wherein a man tried to evade police action for not wearing helmet by flaunting his "contacts" in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

The video of the incident, occurred in south Goa, went viral last week.

In the video, a middle-aged man is purportedly seen bragging about his "contacts" in the CMO when a traffic police constable asked him to pay fine for riding a two-wheeler
without wearing helmet.

"Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has directed DGP Muktesh Chandar to inquire into the incident wherein an unknown person was seen using the name of the CMO in the video," a CMO spokesman said in a statement.

He said the chief minister has reacted after the video has been widely circulated on social media.
