Pune: 5-year-old boy falls into borewell, rescue operation on

The boy, Mangesh Jadhav, accidentally fell into the borewell in Virali village, station duty officer at Mhaswad police station said.

Pune: A 5-year-old boy accidentally fell into an open borewell at a village in Maan taluka of Satara district of Western Maharashtra on Monday morning and a rescue operation has been launched, police said.

The boy, Mangesh Jadhav, accidentally fell into the borewell in Virali village on today morning, station duty officer at Mhaswad police station said.

"He got struck at 10-feet depth from the ground level," said police.

Local administration along with the fire brigade, a medical team, police personnel and members of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have reached the spot and an operation has been launched to rescue the boy.

According to police, oxygen is being pumped into the borewell.
