Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Tuesday witnessed heated exchanges between ruling BJP and Opposition Congress members over the demand by the former to move a resolution in the house to censure former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for imposing emergency in the country in 1975.
The demand by the ruling party members to initiate a debate on the issue in the house sparked a furore in the Opposition bench leading to several adjournments of house.
Later, the monsoon session which was to last five days, was adjourned sine die on the second day on Tuesday following the uproarious scenes in the house.

Earlier, legislative affairs minister described the no-trust motion moved by the Congress as “bereft of facts” and mere repetition of old baseless charges by the Opposition party. He, however, demanded that the House should pass a resolution to censure late Indian PM Ms Gandhi for imposing Emergency.
