Nation remembers 'missile man', former Prez APJ Abdul Kalam on 4th death anniversary

Political leaders took to twitter to pay homage to the former leader.

Mumbai: Remembering APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India (2002-2007) on his fourth death anniversary, political leaders and netizens took to twitter and paid him tribute.

The official Twitter handle of BJP read," Our humble tribute to the 'Missile Man', former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam whose life continues to inspire millions of youth."

While Congress tweeted saying "Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, known as the Missile Man of India, played pivotal roles in INCOSPAR, ISRO, DRDO & the missile program from 1960 to 1999. He served as the 11th President & was awarded the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan. We remember him on his death anniversary."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote that he was an outstanding scientist and a great motivator whose teachings have inspired millions of lives. "Nation can never forget his monumental contribution in the field of science and technology," he wrote.

Indian Army, too, paid their homage on the social media platform. "#IndianArmy salutes Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Former President and The Missile Man on his death anniversary. You shall continue to inspire us & shall keep igniting our minds," it said.

All India Radio's official twitter handle quoted Kalam's famous lines, "You have to dream before the dream comes true."

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo, Mamata Banerjee wrote. "Solemnly and very fondly remembering former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary"

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, too remembered the former president.

Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia remembered Kalam as a teacher who inspired all.

CM of Punjab, Capt Amarinder Singh, too paid his tribute.

UP Police described Kalam as 'immortal' and posted his quote, "Dreams are not those which we see when we sleep but they are those which do not let us sleep".
