Rahul Gandhi calls on President for first time

New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi met the President of India, Mr Ram Nath Kovind, on Saturday. It was described as a courtesy call. This is the first time that Mr Gandhi as president of the Indian National Congress called upon the President of India.

Insiders say that the meeting was due as the Congress president after taking charge of the party had to call on the President. The President of India tweeted, “Shri Rahul Gandhi MP LS and President of Indian National Congress, called on #PresidentKovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan today.”
